Carylee
Drummer, educator, and musical powerhouse keeping The 8eez grooving with the perfect 80’s beat. Music Director for the Orchestra of Southern Utah by day, rockin’ the drums by night.
My Story
Carylee Zwang has been keeping the beat since she was old enough to hold a pair of drumsticks. A passionate performer and educator, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education with a Percussion Emphasis from Southern Utah University. Since 2003, Carylee has been an integral member of the Orchestra of Southern Utah, where she now serves as Music Director and Conductor.
In addition to her work with the orchestra, Carylee has directed numerous pit orchestras for regional theater productions including Little Shop of Horrors, The Music Man, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Wedding Singer, and more. Her musical roots run deep in the Southern Utah arts community, and she’s known for bringing precision, heart, and contagious joy to every performance.
As the drummer for The 8eez, Carylee channels her love for rhythm and live performance into recreating the unforgettable sounds of the 1980s. Whether driving the groove behind power ballads or fueling dance-floor anthems, she brings both professional polish and pure fun to every show. When she’s not performing or teaching, Carylee enjoys spending time with her two daughters and exploring new creative projects that keep music at the center of her life.
